The Nicolas Florio Memorial Run 🎗️
Walk, run and remember. Honor a bright light gone too soon. Every mile helps future student leaders.
We invite you to the DFW GIVE 5K event on Friday, October 2nd at 3:30 PM at the Bird’s Fort Trail Park.
Join us during Microsoft GIVE Month for a meaningful 5K walk/run honoring the life and memory of Nicolas Florio, a young life lost too soon. This event brings our community together in love, resilience, remembrance, and the lasting impact one life can have on others.
Participants are invited to walk, run, or roll at their own pace while reflecting on the people and causes that inspire them. Through shared miles and shared stories, we will honor Nico's memory and support the spirit of giving that defines GIVE Month.
Proceeds from this event will support the Shine Bright Award, a scholarship established in Nico's memory to recognize JROTC students who exemplify integrity, kindness, perseverance, and selfless leadership. Through this award, Nico's legacy continues to shine by uplifting future generations and helping students pursue their goals while making a positive impact in their communities.
Whether participating onsite or virtually, every mile represents connection, compassion, and hope. Together, we will celebrate a life that continues to shine brightly through the people who remember, love, and honor him. Every step helps ensure that Nico's light continues to shine brightly in the lives of others.

Download, print on standard paper, and pin to a shirt. You can also customize your race number: Editable Race Bib
Download, print on iron-on heat transfer paper (available at most major retailers including office supply and craft stores), and iron on a shirt: Virtual 5K Graphic Iron-on and 5K Graphic Iron-on Instructions
🏁 Route & Course Information:
• Check out the route on Google Earth: DFW GIVE 5K Route
• Starts at Bird’s Fort Trail Park
• Loops through Spring Trail and Keenan’s Crossing Trail
• Flat & beginner-friendly: Walkers of all abilities are welcome!
• Late Arrivals: Welcome to join at any time!
• Not required to complete all 5K — move at your own pace!
🚗 FREE Parking & Directions:
• There is limited public parking available at Bird’s Fort Trail Park, so be sure to arrive early if you’d like to park close to the check-in location.
• Additional parking is available at North Irving Transit Center near Highway 348 & Riverside Drive, just a short walk from the event check-in area.
